Youth hailing from district Doda, participated  in 25th National Youth Festival

DODA: Youth hailing from district Doda, participated  in 25th National Youth Festival (NYF) 2022, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports JKUT. 

It is pertinent here to mention that the Youth Festival is an annual gathering of youth from various states and UTs across India where contingents belonging from different regions show case their talent by displaying their culture which includes Folk Dance, Folk Song, Solo Song and many more so as to make sure our modern youth should remain intact with our rich culture and heritage.

The event, which in other words is a selection/preparation camp for the artistic youth to be picked for the National Youth Festival, being held at Puducherry from January 12 to 16, 2022.

As rightly said by Swami Vivekananda, youth icon, "If we want to bridge the gap between East and West we need to go to Vedas," and this youth festival is a one step further towards enriching and accomplishments of his objectives. This youth festival plays a very crucial role in shaping the lives of millions of youth across India as it helps them to interact with each other and thus knowing the culture of different states, stated by the Principal Secretary to Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, Alok Kumar while inaugurating the Inter-District UT level Youth Festival in an impressive, colourful and well attended function at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University on Jan 01, 2022.

While talking to media, an Artist Sulinder Parihar Sarazi from district Doda that under the able guidance of DYSSO Doda Jaffer H Sheikh, Zafarulla Khan B/M Overall Incharge, PET Anjum Raiz Contingent Incharge Boys, PET Ramesh Kumari Contingent Incharge Girls and, Team Coordinator of Asian Games - 2017 and Contingent Incharge of NYF - 2022 Koshal Sharma. 

"We were successful in bagging first position in inter district level Folk Dance and we are wholeheartedly thankful to all instructors who are wonderful, dynamic, charismatic personalities for their consistent support throughout. It was only through the able guidance, dedication,hardwork and enthusiasm of our Sarazi Kodh team that we were able to bag first position for this year also we the doda artist representing (Kudd/Kodh/Dheku) Sarazi Folk Dance at National Level every year with others contingents in various states and UT's of India," Parihar further said.

Artists namely Sulinder Parihar Sarazi, Karan Sharma were leading at the front throughout this festival upto Divisional level thus exploring their rich culture.

An another Artist Simran Rajput said, "Last but not the least, we are indebted to our sports officers for providing us with this wonderful opportunity to showcase our culture and this time due to Covid 19 this will be perform with all SOPs. But I also wanted to request the authorities to arrange proper costumes for the artists next time."

Other Artists including Raj Kumar, Shubham Sharma, Shalinder Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Neesha Chandail, Anita Devi, Smile Rana, Pooja Devi, Manu Devi and Sonika Devi from Doda participated into the event.

Doda district's "Sarazi Folk Dance Team" selected for National Level Competition at Puducherry but due to covid-19 it has now been decided by the authorities to hold festival in virtual mode.
