DODA POLICE LAUNCHED MASSIVE HUNT AGAINST NARCOTIC PEDDLING
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and taking stringent action against the drug peddler, Doda Police has launched massive hunt against Narcotic peddling in the District and in the month of January-2022, five (05) FIRs have been registered so far in which five (05) persons have been arrested at Doda, Bhaderwah and Gandoh.
Police said that on Thursday, one drug peddler namely Shri Kant son of Garib Dass resident of Angnool Gandoh has been arrested and a case FIR 4/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against him at Police Station Gandoh and investigation of the case set into motion.
Prior to this, three cases bearing FIR Nos. 1/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act dated 01-01-2022, FIR No. 8/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act dated 06-01-2022 and FIR No. 12/2022 U/S 8(a)21/22 NDPS Act dated 20-01-2022 have been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah in which three person namely Anoop Kumar S/O Kamal Singh R/O Dhamunda Bhaderwah, Umaiz Manzoor S/O Manzoor Ahmed R/O Khila Mohalla Bhaderwah and Hans Raj S/O Gori Lal R/O Seri Bhalla have been arrested.
Similarly one FIR 8/2022 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act dated 11-01-2022 has been registered at Police station Doda in which 01 person namely Sulinder Kumar son of Hans Raj resident Sindra Chakrabhati has been arrested.
The drive against Narcotics in the district is going on under the overall supervision of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom and Police is committed to eradicate the menace of Drugs from the District and all efforts are being made to curb the menace of Drug from society.
SSP Doda appealed the general public to cooperate the Police by way of sharing inputs related to Drug peddling so that culprits are brought to books.
SSP Doda also appealed the general public to take care of their children and do their counseling so that they may not fell prey of Drug abuse.
It is pertinent to mention here that the whole initiative regarding eradication of Drug menace in the District has been taken under operation SANJEEVANI on the directions of the Dy. Inspector General of Police DKR Range.
