National Lok Adalat held at District Court Complex Doda 

Doda, December 11; In compliance to the directions issued by NALSA & SALSA a National Lok Adalat was held today at District Court Complex, Doda under the supervision of Sh. Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda, where under different types of cases are taken up for settlement, which includes MACT Claims, Bank Recovery cases (Pre-litigation), Municipality Cases, BSNL Bill Claims, Labour cases, Pre-litigation cases, Criminal compoundable cases, Cases under Negotiable Instruments Act, Matrimonial, Civil cases and Traffic Challans.

Two benches were constituted for disposal of the cases, 1st Bench headed by Mr. Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary, Addl. District & Sessions Judge and assisted by Miss Neena Thakur, Addl. Spl. Mobile Magistrate, Doda to deal with the cases i.e. MACT, Pre-litigation cases of Bank Loan Recovery and other cases pending in the Court of Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Doda and 2nd bench headed by Shri Prem
Sagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Doda and assisted by Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, District Mobile Magistrate (T), Doda to deal with the cases of Civil and criminal compoundable cases, Matrimonial, Labour disputes, N.l. Act, Electricity and Water bills, BSNL Bill Claims, prelitigation matter, Traffic Challan.
In the bench headed by Mr. Mehmood Ahmed Chowdhary settled 48 MACT cases and an award of amount of Rs.   (Two
Crore forty five lac seventy one thousand only) has been awarded in the MACT Cases. In the pre-litigation and post-litigation cases, 13 Civil Cases pending and Bank Recovery of different Banks including JK Bank, SBI, PNB and EDB were settled and an amount of Rs.13,67,150/(Thirteen Lac sixty seven thousand one hundred fifty only) of Bank recovery has been settled and the parties has agreed to pay the settled amount in one installment as well as in more then one installments. Total amount settled in the 1st Bench is Rs. 2,59,38,150/-(Two Crore Fifty nine lac thirty eight thousand one hundred fifty only).
In the second bench headed by Mr. Prem Sagar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Doda, 66 number of cases of different nature were taken up and 50 number of cases have been disposed off and compounded money of Rs.2,77,200/- (Two lac seventy seven thousand two hundred only)/- has been realized.
Large number of Advocates, Bank Officers, litigants, Officers of the different departments, Litigant Public participated in the National Lok Adalat.
The litigants and Bank officials were made aware that other Lok-Adalats shall be held in the near future and pre-litigation as well as pending bank cases shall be taken for settlement. The Bank loan defaulter as well the bank officials were also made aware that in pre-litigation bank recovery cases, no Court fee, counsel fee is to be chargeable and hence the Lok Adalat is most appropriated method to settle the case without payment of any type Court fees as well as the other fees.
