GDC KILHOTRAN ORGANISES SEMINAR ON MY VOTE MY RIGHT

Doda::In order to aware the importance of elections and voting, SVEEP Unit of GDC Kilhotran in association with Literary Committee and Department of Political Science organised a seminar on ‘My Vote My Right’ under the patronage of Dr. Javid Iqbal Zargar, Principal GDC Kilhotran.
The Programme started with the welcome address by Asstt. Prof. Deepak Raj, HoD English. His address was followed by keynote address of Dr. Wahied Khawar Balwan, Nodal Officer SVEEP Unit of the College, who in his brief address to students and faculty mentioned that every vote matters and we should make our elections inclusive, accessible and participative. Moreover we the citizens of India should vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement. The programme was attended by more than 150 students of the college and eminent faculty members namely Dr. Barket Ali, HoD Urdu, Assistant Professor Chanchal Singh HoD Education, Majid Gani Zargar, HoD Economics, PTI Vinay Manhas and Rafiq Ahmed Beigh, Lecturer EVS. The main aim of the seminar was to aware the students about their voting right, power of one vote and knowledge about EVM and Voter registration. The seminar culminated with a Voter’s Pledge by Asstt. Prof. English Deepak Raj and Vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Arshad Ayoub, HoD Political Science who efficiently managed the whole event alongwith other staff members of the college.
