Symposium cum awareness programme under SVEEP organised at GDC Chatroo

Doda::As a part of different activities being organized under SVEEP and to ensure maximum participation of voters District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with Government Degree College Chatroo organised a symposium and an awareness programme today.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal of the college and Mr Zakir Hussain Wani (JKAS) Assistant Commisioner Panchayat Kishtwar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Besides that Mr Tasleem Javed (JKAS) BDO Inderwal, Mr Sameer Batt SHO Chatroo, Mr Rajiv Abrool Principal HSS Chatroo, Mr Sajad Ahmed Election NT Kishtwar and other dignitaries from the district administration attended the programme. Around 150 students and general public too participated in the said programme.
The programme was conducted by Dr Jaswant Singh PTI of the college and it started with a welcome adress and a brief Introduction about SVEEP by Dr Jamsheed Ahmad Nodal Officer SVEEP of the College.
Later on the audience was addressed by Mr Zakir Wani, Mr Tasleem Javed and Mr Sajad Hussain. Mr Zakir Wani congratulated GDC Chatroo for taking the initiative and stressed upon the inclusion of the voters in the voter list, summary revision, importance of vote, har ghar Tiranga and other allied issues. Other speakers also urged the students and general public to actively participate in the electoral process and help in strengthening the democratic roots of the country.
Four students too expressed their views on the importance of vote and democratic set of the country. Two patriotic songs were also sung the students of GDC Chatroo.
Later on a tiranga rally was organised and the students chanted slogans and disseminated the message of hoisting the flag on every house. The students were accompanied by the guests and the staff of the college.
In his presidential address Dr Ashaq Hussain while elaborating the concept of SVEEP for greater electoral participation showed his gratitude to the district administration and the guests of the occasion. He thanked the general public and the students for their support. He further lauded the efforts of Dr Jamsheed Ahmad for planning and organizing the event.
Later on the students were felicitated with trophies by the chief guest. Further mementos were presented to the speakers by the chief guest.
The programme ended with an awareness rally on the theme Har Ghar Tiranga which ended with the distribution of refreshment to all the students.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Mudassar Nazar.
