BY ABID PAMPORI
Doda, August 30: The Outsourced Employees (DEOs/Drivers/Helpers) working in the Health Department under National Health Mission across the UT Jammu & Kashmir have demanded an immediate hike in their monthly honorarium.
As per press statement issued to media, one of the DEO Mr. Mohammad Umar said that they have been engaged in Health Department under NHM through outsourced mode & are working in the department for more than seven years at different capacities.
He said that in the Health Department, the outsourced employees are working with full dedication, zeal and zest and handling efficiently all the work on several web portals of Govt. Of India besides other official assignments viz data compilation, establishment, accounts work etc.
Further the outsourced informed that they have worked tirelessly day and night during the peak time of COVID-19 pandemic bravely leading the battle on frontline and putting their lives at risk but unfortunately our genuine demand of salary hike has never been considered by the higher authorities, thus by affecting their social standing and psychological wellbeing.
Due to our meagre salary and delay in timely salary as well, we are facing a lot of hardship to feed our families and to provide better education to our children, said Mohammad Umar.
The outsourced employees under NHM have urged upon the Administrative Secretary Health and Medical Education Department J&K and Mission Director NHM J&K to look in to the matter on priority by considering their genuine demand of salary hike so that they may also live the life of equality and dignity.
