Govt. Degree College Kilhotran organizes Green J&K Drive

Doda::The Govt Degree College Kilhotran in collaboration with the J&K forest department organized a programme synchronous with Green J&K drive kickstarted by Hon’ble Lt. Governor J&K Sh. Manoj Sinha on 28th of July 2022. The chief guest of the occasion was BDC chairman Mohd. Abbas Rather. Range officer Gandoh Sh. Suresh Jamwal who represented the forest department delivered an elaborative and informative speech on the subject matter and put forward certain visions and missions to curb the menace of deforestation. BDC chairman Sh. Abbas also enlightened the students about the need to safeguard and protect natural resources i.e. the green gold of the region Bhalessa. Dr. Barket Ali, HOD Botany cum Nodal Officer, Green J&K Drive (GDC Kilhotran Chapter) also emphasized about the importance of plantation and appreciated the organizing committees for envisioning such alarming and relevant event. The most important activity of the event was the plantation drive held within the college campus in which BDC chairman, Forest Range officer, Faculty members and students of GDC Kilhotran planted the saplings and took a pledge to save the environment. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Asstt. Prof. Deepak Raj, HOD English, which culminated with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Barket Ali. Others faculty members present on the occasion were Asstt. Prof. Ashwani kumar, HOD Hindi, Asst. Prof Yasir Ahmed, HOD Persian, Asstt. Prof. Chanchal Manhas, HOD Education and Sh.Vinay Manhas, HOD Physical education.
