GDC Doda organizes Bicycle Rally to celebrate World Bicycle Day-2022

Doda::A bicycle rally was organized by the NSS Unit, NCC (Infantry) and NCC (Navy) under the aegis of IQAC and banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The rally was flagged off by Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. He addressed the participants and motivated them to adopt the healthy and sustainable lifestyle habits. The NSS volunteers and NCC cadets covered a distance of 7.5 kms from the college campus to the Ghat area of Doda town. The rally was organized to give much needed boost to the Fit India Movement, Khelo India movement, Clean India movement and Healthy India movement being run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI. The rally was coordinated by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, Programme Officer, NSS and Prof. Zain Batt, NCC CTO (Navy). The cycle rallies across India on the World Bicycle Day have been organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-India@75. Every year on 3 June, World Bicycle Day is observed by 193 member states of United Nations with an aim to make people more active through simple activities, including cycling. The day was first marked on 3 June, 2018, when the United Nations first adopted a resolution during the 72nd Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City
