GDC Chatroo Organizes National level Workshop on Yoga in Commemoration of International Yoga Day

Doda::To observe the “International Yoga Day ” the Department of Physical Education and Sports, GDC Chatroo in collaboration with Indra Gandhi Kala Mahavidyalya , Maharashtra and Kewal Ramji Harde Mahavidyalaya Chamorshi Maharashtra organized a national level workshop on yoga.
The theme of the event was “Yoga for Humanity”. The programme was managed by Dr Jaswant Singh Head of Department Physical Education and Sports GDC Chatroo under the patronage of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqui Principal GDC Chatroo and guidance of Dr S.V. Agarkar, Principal IGKM, Raleogaon, Maharashtra and Dr H.P Banlurkar Principal KHM, Chamroshi.
The programme started with a welcome address by Dr Jaswant Singh which was followed by an introductory speech of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi , Principal GDC Chatroo.
In his speech Dr Rafiqi congratulated the organisers and stressed upon the fact that yoga is a holistic approach and its benefits have been acknowledged and recognised globally.
Dr. Mahesh Madhukarrav Joshi, Director Physical Education and Sports KHM, Chamroshi was the keynote speaker and demonstrater of programme. Dr Joshi practically demonstrated various sitting and standing yog asanas and spoke about physiological and psychological benefits of these asanas and pranayama.
Speaking on the occassion Dr S.V Agarkar principal IGKMV, Ralegon Maharashtra while extending special thanks to Dr Joshi lauded his wonderful demonstration of yog asanas and congratulated the organisers for this initative.
The workshop was organised on google meet platform and was actively attended by more than 80 participants across India.
Towards the end the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Kiran.G.Pawar Physical Director IGKM, Ralegaon, Maharashtra. The other faculty members of GDC Chatroo who attended the workshop are Dr Ashiq Hussain, Dr Jamshed Ahmed, Prof. Chander Parkash, Prof Ajeet Kumar, Prof Waseem Rasheed, Dr. Jaivardhan Manhas, Dr. Mudassir Nazar and Prof. Mudassir Butt.
