GDC Doda organizes an orientation lecture on National Digital Library of India

Doda::An orientation lecture on National Digital Library of India was organized by the Department of Library Sciences in collaboration with IQAC and NDLI Club of the college. The lecture was organized under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. The orientation lecture was delivered by Mr. Hans Raj, Librarian of the college. He explained in detail about the importance and scope of the National Digital Library of India and NDLI Club. He oriented the students regarding the various e-resources available in the NDLI platform. This online portal is launched by the Ministry of Education under National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). The portal can be accessed through website and NDL app. He also motivated the students to join the NDLI club of the college which is one of the unique initiatives among different colleges of the Jammu Division. Dr. Ajaz A. Wani, IQAC Coordinator, interacted with the students on this occasion and explained the role of such initiatives for uplifting the knowledge base of students. Thereafter, Principal of the college also addressed the students and advised them to derive maximum benefit from the various E-services available on the NDLI portal. The event was coordinated by the Dr. Sumit Kotwal, President of the College NDLI Club. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Akhter Hussain, Co-Convener Library Committee. Other faculty members who attended the event included Prof. K.K. Manhas, Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof. Manjeet Singh, Dr. Anayatullah Wani, Prof. Akrity Parihar, Prof. Purnima Manhas, Dr. Mohd Aslam Rather, Dr. Tasir Sharief, Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed, Prof. Zain Ul Abdeen Banday, Prof. Zain Batt, Prof. Syed Kazim, Prof. Younas Rashid, Prof. Amit Kumar, Prof. Saba Tabassum, Dr. Mohd Arif and Dr. Jameel Ahmed.
