Doda::Today on 31st May 2022 ,the Deptt of Food Safety, DFCO Doda in collaboration with Chief Medical Officer (Vice chairman-District Health Society Doda) & joint venture of Judiciary, Police Deptt. ,Revenue Deptt.Education Deptt.
observed the "World NO Tobacco Day" *WNTD* at HQ Doda ,Respected CJM Doda was the Chief Guest & amongst the Distinguished galaxy of dignitaries were Respected Sec.DLSA Bhaderwah ,Advocate Umar ,Deputy CMO Doda,Naib Tehsildar Doda,Chief Education Officer,Doda & other esteemed guests with participants of AMT School Doda.The organizers Faheem incharge National Disease Control Doda, Umer Epedimologist & staff members made program successful, comparing was tremendous, Food Safety Officers of the District were also arm in arm.
In compliance to the instructions envisaged by Shakeel ul Rehman Commissioner FDA j&k, the team keeping the significance of the Day explored the message that besides human cost consuming Tobacco also causes the Environment to degrade .
To fulfill the purpose of the observance of the Day a pledge was taken never to consume any type of Tobacco product in life ,motivate others not to take any Tobacco product & thus make contributions for protection of Environment. Today a mega level Gen.awareness program was organized by the District Health Society Doda & District Magistrate Doda did desire to declare the District as Tobacco free Zone for which all the Enforcement Officers are determined to achieve the goal,the Deptt.of Food Safety Drugs & Food Control Orgn District Doda led by Sh.Taraq Ahmad Butt Assistant Commissioner Food Safety DFCO District Doda being part of the inspection Squad did join the squad visited the market & along with the Food Safety Officers did participate in rally & implementation COTPA .
During the program, among the esteemed speakers Chief Medical Officer Doda started with welcome address & elaborated the theme of the event,Deputy CMO Doda highlighted the objective of the Day,Advocate Umar threw light on the World No Tobacco Day ,Students also spoke on the topic & were encouraged with momentos ,Vote of thanks was delivered by principal AMT School Doda,this mega symposium was organized for the purpose to raise the awareness by making coverage to the topic that Tobacco consumption is one of the factors that are believed to advesersly impact the theme - "Protect The Environment" .Today's program/workshop was purely about to educate the people about the health implications of Tobacco consumption. Moreover, amongst the speakers the theme is "Tobacco-Threat to our Environment" which focuses on environmental damage caused by smoking ,hence attention was drewn to the current context ,more importantly, negative health effects of exposure to passive smoking was debated at length, the program emphasized how Tobacco harms peoples health & pollutes the environment viz there needs to be greater understanding of how discarded cigarette butts contribute to plastic pollution .
