DIRECTOR SCHOOL EDUCATION JAMMU INAGURATES SERIES OF WEEKLY VIRTUAL COUNSELLING SESSIONS UNDER MANODARPAN.

Doda::irector School Education Jammu Dr.  Ravi Shankar Sharma inaugurated a virtual counselling session of students and teachers under MANODARPAN today. The programme was hosted by the Counselling Cell Education Office Doda.

This  virtual counselling  session on the Topic, “Peer Pressure” was the maiden meet among the  series of virtual consultations  which will be carried out across all the Districts  of Jammu Division as per the already circulated counselling calendar  of the Counselling Cell of Directorate of School Education Jammu. It includes major core psychological themes like peer pressure, suicide prevention, child rights, Delinquency, self-awareness, life skills, mental health etc.  It is worthwhile to mention that MANODARPAN is the initiative of Ministry of Education to provide psychosocial support to students for their mental health and well-being. Counselling cell of Directorate of school education Jammu has issued cycle of activities under its calendar for all the Districts of Jammu Division where under different activities / programmes on various psychological issues shall be carried out.     

This initiative of Counselling cell of DSEJ has been launched with the sole aim of providing psycho social support and counselling to students for their mental health and well-being. Director School Education Jammu Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, during his address highlighted the negative effects of peer pressure on the students which usually land them   into unhealthy lifestyles and unhealthy habits. He stressed upon nurturing sound value system both at home and school so that the students shall not fall prey to negative peer pressure. 

The proceedings of virtual counselling session were carried out live on face book page of counseling cell of DSEJ for the sake of wider reach and for the benefit of our students and teachers. In the virtual session various students, teachers and counsellors of different schools of District Doda participated and presented their live performances in the form of role plays, skits, painting, slogan writing and speeches.

The participating schools from District Doda were HSS Beraru, HSS Bhagwah, HS Prano, HSS Dradhu, HSS Trown and GHSS Doda . The students viz. Krishka Goria, Nadia Tabassum,Sukania Kotwal, Payal Katoch,Squrita Rani, Nitin Kumar, Arjun Kalyan, Sujal Kumar, Sabia Bano, Junaid Ahmed,etc.participated in various organized activities. The Faculty Counsellor Vivek Singh threw light on the topic Peer Pressure and emphasized on the positive impact of peer pressure.                                           
The District Counselling Coordinator Sh. Ajeet Singh, who acted as host of the programme, expressed his gratitude to all the participating dignitaries, students and teachers on behalf of counselling cell of the District and Chief Education Office Doda for rendering their valuable inputs and suggestions and makin
