9.10 KGs Poppy Straw seized in Doda

Doda::Jan 11 Police in Doda district recovered a consignment of Poppy Straw being smuggled in a motorcycle and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
Police said that a team headed by I/C Police Post Pull Doda, Gorav Sharma under the supervision of SHO Doda Arun Sharma was on routine patrolling when they signalled a motorcycle to stop but those travelling on the motorcycle parked the vehicle at some distance and escaped from the spot.
The motorcycle with registration umber JK14B 6282 was seized on the spot and on frisking 9.10 KGs of Poppy Straw was recovered and seized.
Police is conducting investigation into the matter and manhunt to identify and nab the peddlers is going on.
A case in FIR 8/22 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Doda police station.
