GDC Bhaderwah organises World Arabic Language Day

Doda::Department of Arabic, GDC Bhaderwah organised World Arabic Language Day under the aegis of Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Principal and Convenership of Dr. Reyaz Ahmed Nadwi, Assistant Professor and Head Department of Arabic.
The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Reyaz Nadwi who in his address said that day is commemorates the role Arabic played in promoting the dissemination of the sciences and philosophies of ancient civilisations such as the Greeks and the Romans, and in giving birth to the European Renaissance followed by lectures by Assistant Professor Mushtaq Ahmed of Persian, followed by Assistant Professor Naz Zargar Head Department of English and Dr. Nazarul Islam Assistant Professor and Head Department of Islamic studies .
The resource persons Arabic is at least 1,500 years old. Classical Arabic originated in the sixth century, but earlier versions of the language existed, including the Safaitic dialect, an old Arabic dialect used by the pre-Islamic nomadic inhabitants of the Syro-Arabian desert. Some of its inscription date back to the first century. Many students participated on the occasion who spoke about the occasion and present their thoughts. The Arabic language is a pillar of the cultural diversity of humanity. It is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, used daily by more than 400 million people. World Arabic Language Day is celebrated every year on 18 December since 2012. The date coincides with the day in 1973 that the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Arabic as the sixth official language of the Organization.The faculties who participated in this event were Dr. Javed Iqbal HOD Urdu, Prof. Manzoor Ahmed, Mr. Zakir Ali PTI, Dr. Adil Zargar English, Dr. Showkat Ahmed Chemistry, Dr. Owais, Prof. Virender Singh English and others. The program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Reyaz Ahmed Nadwi.
