GDC Doda holds Annual Alumni Meet 2022.

Doda::Govt Degree College Doda conducted its yearly alumni gathering under the aegis of IQAC and under the general direction and supervision of principal of the college, Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, who also served as the host of the event. The distinguished alumni who had travelled to this meet were given a hearty welcome. The naval wing of NCC led them to the meeting hall. On this occasion, the former students of the college Mr. Phulail Singh, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Mr. Hamidullah Naik, Deputy Superintendent Jail Bhaderwah, and Mr. Nissar Ahmed Banday, District President General Line Teacher Association, were the special guests. Dr. Akhter Hussain, an assistant professor of urdu and a member of the college alumni committee who is also one of the well-known college alumni, coordinated the entire event and used his poetic language to create a captivating atmosphere. The college alumni committee member and Head Department of Botany, Dr. Tasir Sharief, welcomed the alumni. Dr. Tasir outlined the goals and purposes for holding this meet while extending a warm welcome to the alumni. He also emphasised the variety of responsibilities that our institution's alumni play in society and urged everyone to share their experiences from the outside world. Dr. Ajaz Ahmed, HOD Zoology and coordinator IQAC delivered a detailed report on past accomplishments, including NAAC accreditation, the introduction of several self-employed courses, research publications, involvement of students in curricular and co-curricular, achievements in academic field and the execution of research projects by the college staff at this institution. Additionally, he informed them about the future plans of the college.
Many alumni shared their past experiences and offered insightful comments and opinions during the second session. They highlighted the impact this institution had on their professional lives as well as the impact it continues to have as one of the top colleges in the Jammu region. They gave the college administration their word that as former students of this institution, they would contribute and work with them. A brief video clip showcasing their college life, hobbies, and accomplishments of college was also shown to them. Mr. Phulail Singh, Mr. Hamid Ullah Naik and Mr. Nisar Ahmed Banday also addressed the audience and shared their experiences and views. Certificates of appreciation were presented to several of the graduates in recognition of their exceptional accomplishments during the previous two years.
Principal of the college Dr Attar Singh Kotwal in his presidential address, thanked the alumni for their time and suggestions. Additionally, he gave them the assurance that their comments would be taken into consideration and asked for their participation and support in order to take this institution to new heights. The event was organised and managed by college alumni committee. The alumni committee consists of Prof. Mohd Ashraf as convener and Dr. Jaghmohan singh as Co- convener and Dr Tasir Sharief, Prof Syed Kazim, Prof. Manjeet Singh, Dr. Akhter Hussain, , Prof. Zain Bin Hassan, Prof. Younis Rashid, and Dr. Safi Mohd Naik as members respectively.The alumni committee, whose members are also graduates of this college, oversaw all preparations for the event.
Besides, all other college faculty played a key role in the organisation and success of this event. Technical issues were dealt with by Dr Mohd Aslam Rather and his team including Prof. Ankush, Prof. Amit Kumar, Dr Anayetullah Wani, Dr Masood Ayoub and Dr Ravinder Singh. Dr Tabassum Saleem, Dr Anita Kotwal, Prof. Imteyaz Ahmed, Prof. Upma Kumari, Prof. Preeti Devi and Prof. Purnima Manhas, made a profound contribution in venue preparation and decoration. Other faculty like Prof. Kewal Krishan Manhas, Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Dr Sumit Kotwal, Dr Sarvjeet Prof. Zainul Abdeen, Dr Neelam Sabha, Prof. Akriti Parihar, Dr Alina Kichloo, Dr Manish, Prof. Lalit Kumar, Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Prof. Sheezan Batt and Prof. Nisar Ahmed also made an important contribution. Non-teaching staff and students also made an appreciable contribution. The program was given media coverage by Idrees Flahi correspondent from Shiwam Channel Doda. Idrees Flahi is also an alumnus of GDC Doda. The program ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr Jaghmohan Sing, HOD Hindi and co-convener of college alumni committee.
